Summer Holiday tips…

Protect your hearing aids from moisture

At this time of the year it is quite warm and days can be hot, humid and sticky. Moisture can damage the electronics in your hearing aids. Wipe them with a dry cloth throughout the day if you feel very hot and are perspiring.

Remove your hearing aids before showering bathing or swimming. Thoroughly dry in and around your ears with a towel or tissue before putting them back into your ears. Use a special hearing aid drying kit. If you would like to purchase one, please call True Hearing and reception will be happy to assist <click to contact>

Keep hearing aids away from children and pets

Social gatherings with family and friends during the holidays will see you engage more with the people that matter most to you. Ensure your hearing aids and hearing aid batteries are stored out of the reach of children and pets. They can often be mistaken for lollies or treats posing a potential choking hazard.

Storing your batteries/chargers

Avoid storing hearing aids and hearing aid chargers in extreme temperatures to keep from draining battery power and shortening battery life.

Store hearing aids and batteries at normal room temperatures.

Remove dead batteries immediately. A completely discharged battery could swell and become difficult to remove from the battery door.

To protect against discharging your backup batteries, keep them away from coins, keys or other metal objects.

Be sure to order an extra supply of batteries to get you through the holiday season. If you have rechargeable hearing aids, you’re all set.
