Hearing Aids

Hearing allows us to engage in the world around us and enhances our ability to learn, to communicate and to experience pleasure through music and other sounds. Good hearing is essential to everyone, regardless of age.

Choosing a hearing professional is one of the most important decisions a hearing impaired person can make. Since a hearing aid cannot be prescribed like eye glasses, proper hearing aid recommendation and fitting is highly dependent on the judgment and skill of the professional selecting the instrument.

Whether you are a long-term hearing aid user, or you are just starting to notice a decline in your hearing, we understand hearing loss and we will do everything to help you maximise your communication. At True Hearing, we know that there are many forms of hearing loss and each client is offered ongoing counselling and individualised services.

We offer our patients freedom of choice with multiple lines of hearing aid technologies and models at every price point (we work with all hearing manufacturers).

All fittings are expertly fit using Real Ear measurement technology and are supported by individual aural rehabilitation and expert diagnostic audiological assessment. We develop individualsed treatment plans for each client and explain multiple treatment options.

At all times your needs and requirements will be taken into account and we will provide advice on the best solution to optimise your hearing potential. We will choose from the very latest in digital technology to find the right solution for you, all our hearing devices are very effective but extremely discreet and in some cases completely invisible.

Your comprehensive hearing aid consultation may take place in three stages:

Fitting & Instrument Consultation

  • Initial fitting and programming of the hearing instrument using computerised sound samples to imitate “real-life” situations such as restaurant back ground noise and street noise
  • Programming/setting of hearing instrument parameters to suit individual needs
  • Full instruction on use and care of the instrument, including cleaning and simple maintenance

Follow-up & ongoing support

  • 1-2 weeks after fitting the hearing instrument we will see you again, to discuss your progress. At this stage we will carry out any necessary fine tuning or adjustments to suit your personal requirements
  • A further 2-3 weeks after the fitting we will normally see you again to further discuss your experiences with the hearing instrument and make adjustments where necessary
  • A further check in two months allows us to ensure that you are completely satisfied.

  • We provide further adjustments to the hearing instruments or advice about their use.
  • Once you have purchased the instrument(s) you will be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty for an agreed period.
  • We offer an ongoing repair and cleaning service to all our customers.
  • We will contact you every year as it is advisable to have your hearing and aids checked annually to check for any changes.
  • We will keep you up to date with any new technology and invite you to our technology open days where you will be able to see what new devices, upgrades and treatments are available.

Hearing tests check a person's ability to hear the loudness and pitch of sounds. Some reasons why you may need a hearing test include ringing in your ears, others companing that you talk too loud or watch the TV on high volume, or simply you have trouble hearing conversations.

While there's no replacement for a consultation with a hearing-care expert, our free online hearing screening can provide some quick and useful feedback about your hearing. The screening should be carried out in quite space and all you need is a pair of headphones!
